Bula vinaka runners!
Thank you so much to all of you for registering for the upcoming Namosi Marathon! You are receiving this email because we have recorded in our registration system that you have paid and picked up your number.
If this is not the case please get in touch with Noeline [email protected].
If you’ve not yet done so have a read of the participant information below. We’ve also attached our traffic management plan which contains details of some of the main junctions and a rough outline of the water stations along the way. Note – this is not set in stone and may be adjusted on the day as needed.

Full and Half Marathon runners
All full and half marathon runners must be at MH Super Fresh for a 4.30am departure on Saturday 17th October.
We will not wait for you if you are late.
The Full marathon starts at 5.30am and half at 6.30am.
We encourage you to join everyone on the bus as Helen will be doing a race briefing along the way. The bus will drive on to the finish and you are welcome to leave a bag onboard. Please DO NOT leave valuables on the bus.
The bus will leave Navunikabi at around 2pm to return to Suva.
If you have someone driving your vehicle and dropping you at the full or half marathon start, please ask them to follow the bus.
Once they have dropped you, they will need to drive on to the 10km start at Namosi Primary and Secondary school as there is limited parking along the route.
Please ensure you have a camelbak or equivalent if you are running the Full Marathon.
Water stations are roughly every 8km and if it is a hot day you will need it. Note that water stations will only have water available – please bring electrolytes, gels or anything else that you will need.
10km Runners
All 10km runners will need to get themselves to the start of the 10km race near Namosi Secondary School for a 7am start.
Please leave Suva no later than 5.20am. We ask that you carpool to get to the start as there is limited parking available at the school.
You may wish to stay at Namosi Eco Retreat on Friday 16th to have slightly more sleep!
A shuttle will run from Namosi Eco Retreat to the start from 6am and from the race finish to the start to get you back to your vehicles.
A limited number of 10km race numbers are available – if you can get a group of 10 or more together please get in touch.
We’re delighted to have several of Fiji’s EcoChallenge team members joining us – either as runners or helping out on their bikes for our lead runners.
After-party
And we hope that you’ll join us for the race after-party at Namosi Eco Retreat! Knox will be there and Danny and his team have prepared a post-run brunch for $20 per head.
Several of the race committee are staying the night and we’d love to have you join us! Please book in directly at Namosi Eco Retreat with Danny on [email protected]
If there’s anything else you need to know please don’t hesitate to drop Noeline a line at [email protected] give me a call on 9980560.
A HUGE vinaka vakalevu to all our supporters – Tourism Fiji, Island Chill, Munro Leys, EY, Run and Joy running Club and Wah Sing.
To Namosi Eco Retreat and Takape Bicycling for logistical support, the Volunteer First Responders for medical support and Roteract for volunteering to help marshal the event.
And of course, to the people of Namosi who have been so supportive including Tarisi and Kali Vunidilo of Gasaudrau Farm. We still have spaces for additional volunteers if anyone would like to get involved.
And for some amazing in-kind prizes from Leleuvia, Sports World, Metro Gym and many others. We very much appreciate the community coming together to make this happen!
Have a wonderful Fiji Day all!
